Keep Calm and Fight against COVID-19

A rapid increase in anxiety among the general population is linked to lightning-fast spread of COVID-19; but anxiety does not prevent the coronaviruses, only we can do so. The most important thing is to protect yourself and others by knowing the facts and the most up-to-date information, and taking the appropriate precautions in a reasonable and calm manner. Korean citizens succeeded after the 1997 financial crisis by participating in a gold-collecting campaign – and we now need to re-create the will and passion of those days. As the number of confirmed cases has been sharply increasing, patients, whether with COVID-19 or not, cannot get the necessary treatment if medical/health facilities are unintentionally shut down. If you may have any symptoms of COVID-19, please call the 1-3-3-9 coronavirus hotline to be directed to an appropriate facility. Here’s our safety tips:
1) Wear a mask, clean your hands often, and cover your nose and mouth with your bent elbow or a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
2) Do not visit medical facility unnecessarily; wear a mask in hospitals.
3) Hoarding supplies is not recommended; please do not overreact.
4) Limit social gatherings and time spent in crowded places.

With your participation, we can prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus and provide medical resources and supplies to regions with many confirmed COVID-19 cases. In addition, KNCCO and other consumer organizations are calling on the government for active prevention measures and a stable supply of essential items, such as masks, while we are receiving complaints via the 1372 Consumer Counseling Center about mask hoarding, unfair charges and excessive prices, unreasonable cancellations and consumer abuse. We will be there with you, to protect our daily lives from COVID-19.
