Korea National Council of Consumer Organizations (President Kim Cheon-ju, Hereinafter KNCCO) will host a Forum on Development of Reasonable Food Safety Management Methods based on a case analysis of consumer complaints on April 10.
The forum was organized after compiling a general summary of the ‘Research on the development of reasonable food safety management methods based on a case analysis of consumer complaints in Korea and overseas’ that’s been carried by the KNCCO since June 2008 upon the request of the Korea Food & Drug Administration. The research project involves holding a monthly meeting of researchers from consumer organizations and the Korea Food & Drug Administration to identify the food safety problems and develop improvement measures by analyzing consumer consultations. A consumer forum (food accidents and solutions in Korea and overseas) and an international symposium (status and management of international food labeling) were held in the past, and the upcoming forum will be held to wrap up the research project.
The forum will be held on April 10, 2009 (Friday) at 2:00pm at the auditorium on the 4th floor of the Seoul YWCA with the main subject: ‘Status of and solutions for food-related consumer complaints in Korea and overseas’.
The main objectives for the forum will include the types of and solutions for food-related consumer consultations as well as the types of and process results of food-related consumer consultations in the U.S.
The schedule is as follows.
