The Korea National Council of Consumer Organizations (KNCCO) held the 39th regular general meeting on Feb. 23, 2012 in the auditorium of YWCA Korea and elected Yeon-hwa Kim, director of Korea Consumer Affairs Institute, as its 20th president.
President Yeon-hwa Kim has done active work for consumer movement while leading Korea Consumer Affairs Institute. She has also worked as an expert in various fields serving as the vice president of KNCCO, a committee member of the price policy for Seoul City, a committee member of the national police agency, and a full-time professor at the National Institute of Environmental Human Resources Development.
President Kim expressed her ambition saying, “I will promote the unity of the 10 member organizations to be able to get over the generation barrier, and also do my best to help consumer organizations fulfill their roles in overcoming the economic crisis both at home and abroad.”
