Grand Winter Bazaar Will Be Held to Help Flood Victims
The Korea Federation of Housewives' Clubs (Chairperson Kim Cheon-ju) will hold a grand bazaar to raise funds in order to provide victims of the flood that swept across the country in the summer of 2006 with heating apparatus and other winter supplies that will help keep them warm during the upcoming winter.
Flood victims are to spend the winter in a container without proper bed clothes and heating apparatus, so the bazaar has been organized to raise funds to buy the victims what they need to keep warm through the winter.

Title: Grand Winter Bazaar to Help Food Victims and Public Day Care Centers. Date & Time: September 22, 2006 (Friday), 10 am ~ 5 pm. Location: Lobby (1st floor) and the main gate of Seoul Women's Plaza. Items for sale: Clothes, shoes, accessories, everyday necessities, side dishes, rice cakes, etc. |
All of the funds raised at the bazaar will be used to buy heating apparatus and other winter supplies for the flood victims in Danyang-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do, to help old people living on their own and to provide financial aid to public day care centers that are suffering financial difficulties.
2006 Special Economic Lectures with the KDI
The Korea Federation of Housewives' Clubs (Chairperson Kim Cheon-ju) will provide a forum for discussions on how speculative gift certificates, gambling and games affect the economy, the lives of ordinary people, and society as a whole in connection with the Sea Story scandal that has emerged as a hot issue recently. The gathering is intended to build a consensus for saving the economy from a widespread slump.
